LATE NOTICE: Dallas Independent School District magnet principals informed parents today that due to “a glitch in central office” magnet acceptance letters would not be going out on time.
If you are looking for your acceptance letter for a Townview campus do not look to the Dallas ISD calendar for guidance. For those new to Dallas ISD you will find this to be a frequest occurence.
Regularly Dallas Independent School District will choose a standard for itself, students, and parents and then not hold up its end of the bargain. Dallas ISD which has stringent requirements for its magnet high school applications can not meet its own standards for performance or practice. While teachers are measured on test scores and have their salary adjusted due to student success or failure they may or may not control – once again – central office is late to the party with last minute changes to a process that they do control. These are the same people making high six figure salaries that do not answer parent questions.
These decisions cause problems at magnets from the elemetary level like George Bannerman Dealey and Sudie Williams TAG Academy all the way up to Booker T. Washington Performing Arts campus and the Townview schools.
