The Dallas ISD Calendar changed last night for the 20-21 school year at the Board of Trustees meeting.

As predicted Wednesday, the school year will not start until after Labor Day and will run through June 18, 2021.

The COVID-19 threat level in late August/early September will determine whether Dallas ISD offers online learning only when school first starts or have the option of in-person or online learning.

Other changes to the Dallas ISD Calendar include the elimenation of Fair Day – since the fair is cancelled for 2020, the addition of an Election Day holiday, and the move to nine week grading periods.

It is unclear if Dallas ISD is ready for an online or hybrid learning environment. Some teachers report still being unsure of “the plan” which is clearly not being communicated down their chains of command.
